O fenômeno do Ice Bridging<\/strong> ocorre em motores recíprocos quando a ignição<\/a> é feita em condições de frio extremo. Nesse processo, a mistura ar-combustível<\/a>, ao ser queimada, gera vapor d’água. Esse vapor pode se condensar rapidamente sobre os eletrodos da vela de ignição<\/a>, formando gelo. O gelo pode preencher a folga entre os eletrodos da vela, impedindo a faísca e, consequentemente, a combustão do motor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esse problema pode fazer com que o motor falhe ao dar partida, exigindo a remoção das velas para permitir que o gelo derreta antes que o motor possa operar normalmente.
